On November 12, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance jointly organized a site meeting in Xi'an, Shaanxi, to promote the deep and practical implementation of the national comprehensive freight hub's supply chain strengthening, and to facilitate the high-quality development of comprehensive transportation hubs. Xu Chengguang, Deputy Minister of Transport, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Chen Chunjiang, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, gave a speech. Relevant provincial (regional, municipal) transportation authorities, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, transportation authorities of cities with separate planning, and relevant experts participated in the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that the work of strengthening the supply chain of national comprehensive freight hubs has achieved remarkable results, covering the main framework of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network "6 axes, 7 corridors, and 8 channels," effectively serving the implementation of major national strategies, and forming a number of typical experiences in aspects such as hard connectivity of infrastructure and equipment of comprehensive freight hubs, soft connectivity of rules, standards, and services, and the construction of integrated operation mechanisms.

The meeting emphasized the need to be guided by Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee, and implement the spirit of the fourth meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Commission. It is essential to enhance the capacity to "reduce costs, ensure safety, and promote reform," improve the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, unblock traffic logistics bottlenecks, and reduce logistics costs for the entire society; coordinate high-quality development and high-level safety, coordinate hard and soft connectivity, and coordinate international and domestic aspects; accelerate the filling of gaps in port collection and distribution railways, postal express hubs, and dual-use infrastructure. In the next step, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance will complete the first batch of support cities for the national comprehensive freight hub's supply chain strengthening, form a number of typical experiences, and accelerate the research and optimization of policies to achieve greater results.

At the meeting, representatives from Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Linyi, Ningbo, Urumqi, and Jilin Province shared their experiences, while Shanghai made a statement. In the afternoon, representatives and experts exchanged views on promoting the high-quality development of ports, railway freight hubs, and international aviation hubs, as well as on reducing costs and improving quality and efficiency in transportation logistics.
